ACT
American College Testing Program. Assessment program comprised of four academic tests- English , math, reading and science reasoning.
Associate Degree
A degree granted by college or university after the satisfactory completion of a two year program of study.
Bachelor’s Degree (CD)    
A degree received after the satisfactory completion of a four program of study
College Discovery (CD)
Two year opportunity program at CUNY community colleges.          
CEEB Code    High school six digit code number assigned by the College Board. CAS code is 330-652
CUNY
City University of New York (two and four year schools).
EOP               

Educational Opportunity Program. SUNY program which provides tutoring,counseling and additional financial assistance for students who are both economically and academically disadvantaged.

FAFSA Free Application for federal Student Aid. Basic financial aid form used to apply for Pell Grants, Federal Stafford Loans, FSEOG grants and other Federal Campus- Based Programs.
HEOP             Higher Education Opportunity Program – Same as EOP but only in New York state private colleges and universities.           
PSAT/NMSQT

Preliminary Scholastic Aptitude Qualifying Test/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test.

SAR                Student AID Report. Report mailed to student upon completion of the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) processing.

SAT Reasoning        

A two section reasoning test required by many colleges as part of the admission process. The reading section consists of passages designed to measure critical reading skills and knowledge of vocabulary in context. The math section emphasizes problem solving and math reasoning.
SEEK              Search for Education, Elevation and Knowledge - Educational Opportunity Program in CUNY four year schools.
SUNY             State University of New York (two and four year schools.)
TAP     Tuition Assistance Program (New York State financial aid program.)
